Welcome to St. Anthony Parish
The St. Anthony’s Parish of the Catholic Church in Gardnersville was established in 1968 under the pastoral director of His Grace, Archbishop Francis Carroll. The first pastor of the church was Rev. Fr. Harold Sullivan and he served the church between 1968 – 1971.
During the period, Rev. Fr. Sullivan was assisted by two (2) Catholic nuns: Sister Flogg and Lina from the St. Theresa Convent who assisted Rev. Fr. Sullivan in establishing the Church. Their main duty was the teaching of catechism to the children of God. It is important to note that prior to the establishment of the parish in Gardnersville, masses were conducted in the Gardnersville Town Hall. Read more
